We are very pleased to announce the addition of Certified Nurse Midwife, Beth Helme-Smith, to Women’s Healthcare of Illinois!
Beth Helme-Smith earned her BSN from Loyola and her MS and Post Master’s certificate from UIC. She has over 2 decades of midwifery experience. In addition to being a certified nurse midwife, Beth is also a Women’s Health Nurse practitioner and a Registered Nurse First Assistant.
Beth is passionate about empowering women to make informed healthcare choices that are best suited to their families, and providing holistic obstetric and gynecologic care. She is very interested in research being done on the placenta and how it plays a role in the development of obstetric complications. She is also a strong advocate for stem cell research and the role the cord blood may play in regenerative and restorative medicine.
Beth lives in the far south suburbs with her husband, Brian, and their two sons Jake and Josh, and their dog Max. She enjoys gardening, cooking, baking, traveling, and going on outdoor adventures. In her free time, she is often found cheering on her sons at their sporting events.
